Meet the counselor:  Hi!  My name is Lindsay Ponce and this is my first year here at Friedberg Elementary as the school counselor.  Previously, I was a counselor at North Davidson High School in Welcome NC, North Surry High School in Mt. Airy NC and Sunflower Elementary School in Lawrence, Kansas.  I am so excited to be back at the elementary level!  I completed my Bachelors degree in sociology from NC State University and received a Masters degree in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State.  I am originally from Raleigh, NC (Wake Forest to be exact) but have lived in the Winston-Salem area for around 6 years now.  I have four children of my own and love the beach!  I hope you have a little more insight to who I am now that you've stopped by here.

What you can expect:  School counselors help students succeed in three major areas: academics, social/emotional, and career.  I will be teaching students once a month lessons that focus on these areas as well as character education.  I am also available for talking with students individually and in small groups.
